I Hear the Bells…

And in despair I bowed my head;

"There is no peace on earth," I said;

"For hate is strong,

And mocks the song

Of peace on earth, good-will to men!"

Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:

"God is not dead, nor doth He sleep;

The Wrong shall fail,

The Right prevail,

With peace on earth, good-will to men.”

It’s very likely that we all have our favourite Christmas carols and/or hymns. Mine is Henry Longfellow’s “I Heard the Bells”. There’s something strangely poetic and hopeful about the revelation of Jesus in a chaotic and messy world. It is in this season where you - yes, YOU - can have a profound impact on those around you who don’t know Jesus. Christmas services are typically fun, inspiring, and bring the advent themes of hope, joy, peace, and love - things we all need in our lives all year round. Our challenge to you this season is to bring friends, family, and loved ones to any of all of our Christmas services this year and pray that God might identify in their lives their need for Jesus.
