Sowing Seeds

This past Easter, a senior from C*Road came to the event team with a heart full of excitement—and one small worry.

She had heard about “You’ve been Egged,” an opportunity for C*Roaders to share Jesus’ love with their neighbours in a fun, playful way. The idea was simple: bring lightness to the community, start conversations, and let people feel cared for.

She was ready to participate but when she imagined what it would look like, she hesitated. Her new neighbours had kids who were a little older one in upper elementary  and one in high school and she wondered if “egg hunt” might feel too childish for them.

So we prepared her a special kit: teen-appropriate candy and a youth & kids invite, something warm and thoughtful that would feel meaningful not awkward.

When she used the kit, something beautiful happened. The “Egged” gesture broke the ice. Instead of an initial “who are you?” moment, there was conversation, laughter, and the beginning of real connection. Now these once strangers /neighbours  have become friends.

And the story didn’t stop there.

Last week, this bold and beautiful  senior brought her new friends to service for the first time, showing up with curious hearts and open minds. Now it’s not just candy and eggs—it’s a growing sense of faith and belonging.

We’re praying that God continues His movement in their lives, and that this kind of caring courage in our C*Road Family.
