One of our Bible teachers shared this story that has inspired me over this past

month:

“I came prepared to teach an engaging lesson from the Book of Acts. The kids were chatty, and I started to feel frustrated. But then I slowed down. I listened and realized something amazing.”

She noticed the children weren’t just talking. They were helping one another find the story in Scripture. They were following along in their Bibles because they had been taught how to do it for the last 14 months.

“In that moment, she said, my whole mindset changed. I threw out my activity and listened to what they were doing. The kids wanted to take turns reading the story, and they led the whole lesson that Sunday. Our kids are learning to loveGod's Word !!! My heart has never been fuller.” This is why I volunteer in Next Gen ministry. It's what happens when teaching becomes practice.

When we slow down and learn the basics, we stop feeling overwhelmed and start feeling capable. We see God on the page. Our kids know that Scripture is not just for grown-ups it is for them too and it is becoming something they can return to.
