Middle School - “Don’t convince me”
She comes to youth regularly high energy, full of questions, and confident that she doesn’t believe in God. Lately, she’s been carrying a lot: stress and frustration at home, pressure and overwhelm at school. As she’s asked, she pulls her small group leader aside and asks for prayer, not as prayer of Salvation, but as an honest need.
Her leader doesn’t pressure her or argue just listens and prays with care. Something begins to soften in her heart not instantly, but quietly. Even though she still has questions and a “don’t try to convince me” attitude, she notices small shifts: her frustration eases a little, her conversations change, and she stays present longer instead of shutting down.
What moves her isn’t guilt or force it’s the sense that God’s presence is gentle and real, meeting her exactly where she is. She doesn’t fully believe yet, still curious and for the first time, she allows the possibility of a true God linger.
